Celebrating Our Surfing Community

A Little Update from Kate, Founder of Rad Wax | Rad Spa

Hello everyone!

I thought it was about time I shared a little update on what's been happening at Rad Wax | Rad Spa. It's been a busy few months, with plenty of exciting things going on, particularly in the world of competitive surfing!

Celebrating Our Surfing Community

One of the things I love most about Rad Wax is being able to support surfers at all levels, from university teams and up-and-coming talent to athletes representing Great Britain on the world stage.

We've continued our support for university surf teams, and what a fantastic result for the Falmouth University ladies at the recent BUCS competition!

The girls had a clean sweep of the final, taking all the top spots in some brilliant surfing conditions. It's fantastic to see the next generation of surfers doing so well, especially right here in Cornwall. Huge congratulations to everyone involved!

Emily Currie Flying the Flag for Team GB 🇬🇧

Our Rad Wax ambassador Emily Currie is currently competing at the World Championships, representing Team GB!

Emily has been having a fantastic year, and it's been lovely following her journey. She's currently through to Round 3, and we're all cheering her on from back home.

Good luck, Emily! We're rooting for you!

Our Latest Partnership – GB Surf Life Saving Team

We're also incredibly excited to announce our latest partnership with the GB Surf Life Saving Team, who are heading to South Africa to compete at the Lifesaving World Championships.

The team consists of 24 athletes, and we'll be supporting them with Rad Wax for their boards and Rad Spa products for their preparations and recovery.

This partnership is particularly special to me. Having spent years involved in surf lifesaving, both competing and working as a beach lifeguard, I know just how much training, dedication and teamwork goes into these events.

Surf lifesaving is a brilliant sport, combining ocean skills, fitness and competition, and it's fantastic to be involved again in a different way.

We can't wait to follow the team's progress in South Africa and wish them all the very best!

More Than Just Surf Wax

What I find really interesting about these competitions is how much being part of a team can bring to an individual athlete.

Surfing is often seen as an individual sport, but behind every athlete there's a whole community of coaches, teammates, friends and supporters.

I've seen this firsthand through my years of coaching tennis and competing in surf lifesaving. There's something really special about representing a team and working towards something bigger than yourself.

It's a bit like running a business, really. The best things tend to happen when people work together, share ideas and support each other.

And that's exactly what we want Rad to be about.

What's Next for Rad?

Alongside all the competitions, we've been busy growing our retail partnerships, getting Rad Wax into more surf shops and introducing our new Rad Spa collection.

There's lots happening behind the scenes, and we're looking forward to sharing more over the coming months.

As always, a massive thank you to everyone supporting us, whether you're competing at a World Championship, catching your first wave or simply enjoying a weekend in the sea.

Do more of what you love.

Good luck to all our athletes competing over the coming weeks. We're proud to be a small part of your world.

See you in the water!
